I am quite certain that development is linear theology in secular form and in that sense we are all Secular-Christian now, including those who are promoting Hindutva from their rooftops.

Your analysis also hints at how metaphysics of progress can itself prevent us from flourishing or worse, lead us to ruin (as is happening with climate change).

Ultimately though, this idea of time is really about power, whether to make the world better (the idea of progress) or to destroy (the nuclear bomb, the climate crisis).

What’s not clear to me is how to reject both the progressive and the regressive…..
